Ayudh Meal packing event May 4th
Amma says “The sweat of one doing selfless service is like prasad for Amma.” Remembering how Amma directed a large-scale packing and distribution of rice, grains, and food for people in need during COVID-19 times, AYUDH New England also wanted to work towards Sustainable Development Goal #2, Zero Hunger.
During the packing seva in Amritapuri, Amma remarked that the sound of the grains going through the funnels was like music to Amma. Inspired by Her example, AYUDH New England helped organize AYUDHians and Satsang members to join a meal packing effort with Feed My Starving Children at the Dayspring Christian Academy in South Attleboro on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Learning that one in nine people in the world go hungry, the volunteers took part in efforts to make packets containing rice, soy, dried vegetables, and vitamins that will be distributed across the world to provide food for children in need. Together, they packed 22,248 meals in 103 boxes that, in total, can feed 61 children a daily meal for an entire year!
