Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri was at MA Center San Ramon on July 14 and 15. Two inspiring days of spiritual talks and powerful bhajans with Swamiji, ending with a late-night porch Bhajan-participatory game. In the Spring of 1989, Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri came to oversee the inception of MA Center San Ramon and bring Amma’s presence to the West. His acceptance and inviting presence embodied Amma’s teachings of love and compassion which drew in a core group of dedicated residents and Satsang members.
We are so grateful for the blissful time spent with Swamiji this weekend - Satsang and Bhajans the first day, Q & A Satsang and Bhajans the second day, in the presence of over 350 attendees including those from outside the Bay Area. Two inspiring days of spiritual talks and powerful Bhajans with Swamiji!
The community lined up to receive him with flowers and traditional poornakumbam by the devotees of Amma who have been devotees since her first visit to the USA. The last night after dinner, the community gathered in front of the temple. A joyous participatory folk dance was followed by sharing experiences of Amma. Next came the games: spiritual-principle charades, and an Antakshari style bhajan game -singing the first few lines of a song and then spontaneously moving to the next song, using the last word of the previous one. As the grand finale, Swamji led a rousing 'Amma Amma Taye'. Matarani Ki Jai!
