20th Anniversary PNW Auction
Thanks to everyone throughout the PNW Region who participated in this year's 20th Annual PNW Amma Auction. It is so amazing to be part of this super loving community.
At the auction, we had a delicious Indian Dinner featuring Pakodas, Bhel Puri, Ragada Patties, Biryani, Dosas, Chai and Mango Lassi. The dinner was lovingly made to order and served to each person one at a time. It was a first taste of such excellent food for a lot of devotees! We had a fabulous raffle that featured, devotees winning a Huggable Amma Prasad Pillow, a Breathtaking Brass Ganesh Statue and the Super Tablas!
One different feature this year was that the online auction switched to a silent auction on the day of the event. This allowed for more fun, by bidding in person rather than on the computer. The tables were color coded, Green, Blue, White, Pink, and they closed at different times. This added to the excitement. This year for the first time we had a "Live auctioneers" the team of three were spectacular! They moved forward as professionals and were highly entertaining and engaging.
Excellent musical entertainment, was provided by Satyasilian and Rachel. Their voices blended together perfectly and sounded like angels. Many devotees baked mouthwatering cakes and desserts for this year's first ever "Great Dessert Race." Through this fun game, we were able to raise over $700. from these desserts alone! Big Thanks also goes to the photographers, ticket maker, flyer creator, description writers, item donators, service donators, the online techy experts, bidders, diners, and especially those that handled registration and checkout/cashiering, set-up, and clean-up.
It seems every single devotee took a part in making this auction the great and amazing success that it was. It reminds me of the times 16 years ago when Bipin used to say, "Auction, no problem, the auction is a community effort. We will all create it together." This prophetic statement of his has really come to pass!
