About the One Million Lights Campaign
You are invited to participate in raising awareness about gender equality and women’s empowerment. C20 is about civil engagement, where we get to share their ideas for creating a better world. By acknowledging and nominating those who are working to uplift humankind, you will be participating in a valuable seva for the betterment of the world. You can nominate many individuals and organizations that have made a difference in your life or in the world. It can be people you know personally, famous personalities, charitable organizations or institutions. There is no limit to the amount of times you can nominate. For example, you can nominate Amma, your mother, your fifth grade teacher, the ACLU, and Lady Gaga.
As every nomination comes in, we add a light on our world map. Let's watch the light of awareness spread throughout the world.
One Million Nominations by July 30th
Our goal is to get one million lights by the time C20 meets with Amma in Jaipur, India, on July 31, 2023. The nominations will be presented to Amma. Also, it’s fun to watch the world light up and know you are part of generating positive thoughts in the world!
How can you help with this seva?
1) In addition to nominating your inspirations on C20amma.org, hop over to your social media pages and tag the people and organizations you nominated. Every tag, repost, or like on social media platforms helps spread this light even more, gathering momentum and inspiring others to nominate their lights as well.
2) Liking, sharing and especially commenting on the posts from Ammachi Labs for this campaign helps keep the conversation coming to the top of people’s pages and on the forefront of our minds.
3) Record a quick video, sharing what gender equality means to you, who you nominated & why. Hop over to social media to share & tag @ammachilabs on FB, IG & Twitter, with #OneMillionLights #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment & #Civil20India
