Video: Permaculture at Amrita Children's Home
Amrita Children’s Home, an orphanage taking care of 30 needy children, was recently featured on the weekly news program, Eye on Kenya. The show documented the success of the Home's use of Permaculture, an alternative farming method, that has enabled them to consistently feed the children fresh vegetables, grown on their own land.
The children have been a part of the project as well; they take gardening workshops to understand the cycle of food and how to cultivate their own food. It has been exciting because most of the children have never eaten some of the vegetables that are growing. Now, they are enjoying an abundance of fresh organic food right from their garden!
