Total Solar Eclipse
The United States of America will see a total solar eclipse on Monday, august 21st. after 99 years. This event is considered to be extremely potent from an astrological and spiritual viewpoint.
During this time the ashram will have laksharchana , Chanting of the names of Lalitha Devi
10, 000 times. This means chanting the thousand names ten times by a group of ten people.
Devotees are advised to refrain from travelling during the solar eclipse. Please plan on arriving before the eclipse begins.
It takes about 90 minutes for the Moon's dark shadow to cross the country, starting around 10:15 am Pacific time on the West Coast and ending around 2:45 pm Eastern time (11:45 am Pacific time) on the East Coast.

- 7:30am to 8:00 am - ashttoram
- 8am to 10 am - Chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama Thrice
- 10am to 10:30am Break
- 10:30am to 12:30pm Chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama Thrice
- 12:30pm to 1:00pm Light lunch
- 1:00pm to 2:30pm - Chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama Twice
- 2:30pm to 3:00pm chai break
- 3:00pm to 4:30pm - Chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama Twice
- 4:30pm to 5:00pm - Arathi
It is recommended that only fruits and a light meal be consumed during this time. Please bring some fruits for potluck. A light soup or khichadi will be provided.
