Tasks for Weekend of May 19-20

  • Continue clearing weeds from front of house outdoor gathering area
  • Continue placing diatomaceous earth on anthills around Swami program gazebos, as well as near front of house outdoor gathering area, around hall, and around shed/guest house
  • Move rose bushes to various areas near guest house, hall, and outside main house
  • Move bricks from patio to create a border around flower beds
  • Water plants, if needed
  • Clean boxes of utensils left over after last year’s Amma program (from main house garage or pantry) - indoor seva (Sunday only)
  • Continue ironing hall backdrop cloths, then hang up the hall backdrop and decor - indoor seva (Sunday only)
  • Spray mosquito barrier near Swami program gazebos/waterfront (Sunday)

 

Tasks for Seva Weekend May 12-13

  • Fence repairs Saturday or Sunday - 3 people needed together, experience with handywork/hand tools preferred (bring gloves, hat, closed-toed shoes, hammer). Looking to borrow a battery powered circular saw if anyone has this to bring
  • Weeding/cleaning up branches and debris on the grounds near the main house and guest house Saturday or Sunday - 6-8 people needed  (bring rakes, weed wacker if you have)
  • Decorations for hall backdrop, Sunday only - ironing the backdrop cloths, adding garlands, etc (need 3 ironing boards/irons, silk flower garlands, extension cords, safety pins, thumbtacks)  - 5-6 people needed

About Seva Weekends

We will hold Seva Weekends from now until Amma's programs on June 21-22nd.  The basic schedule for Seva Weekends is as follows, but may be subject to change. Please check the weekly newsletter for updates:

Saturdays - open/informal Seva time from 10am-2pm, for indoor/outdoor sevas. See list to be sent weekly for the specific help needed.  Please feel free to bring a bagged lunch.

Sundays - Seva from 11am-2pm, with opening/closing prayers and a few bhajans, and seva period in between.  Lunch will be available.

**Note: For any outdoor sevas, please plan to bring gloves, hat, reusable water bottle that can be refilled, and wear sunscreen, closed-toed shoes or boots, and insect repellent. Please remember to stay hydrated to avoid over-exhaustion! If you wish to come earlier in the day to do any outdoor sevas, please contact Vasishtha 1-2 days in advance.
