Welcome to the Norman, OK Satsang
Amma's Norman OK, children, meet once a month for spiritual practice, singing and community sharing.
Our Satsang meets once a month on Saturdays from 5:30-8pm at Spirit of the Rose Healing Center located at 1717 Caddell Lane Norman, Ok 73069. We begin with a short meditation, opening prayers, chant 108 Names of the Divine Mother, then we sing bhajans - devotional songs & we have some incredible musicians... the Bhakti is palpable, after singing we have another short meditation, then we listen to a reading from an Amma book & share community discussion, we then perform arati - waving a flame before Amma's altar - and end with closing prayers.
After satsang, we share in a beautiful vegetarian Indian meal & other goodies & vegetarian meal items that are brought as part of a pot luck.
Satsang in Norman is casual. A typical gathering may be as small as 8 people or as many as 20. Children and newcomers are always welcome! Write to Ullasita if you have any questions. We also meet on the third Saturday of each month from 8:30am-12:30pm with the other Oklahoma Satsangs to do Seva at Food & Shelter for friends.
Many of us also work together to assist with Amma's South Central Program held each summer in Dallas, Texas. Volunteers are always needed, and there is lots to do!
