Food From Home - MA Center San Ramon initiative

Our MA Center San Ramon kitchen crew has just celebrated the first birthday of Food From Home (FFH)! Launched September 5, 2020, FFH was born in response to the separation and isolation that we, the Amma community, felt during the initial COVID lockdown. If no one could come to the ashram for dinner on a Saturday night, perhaps the dinner could come to the community! 

It has been a year of inspiration and hard work; many hearts and hands together. What started as a crew of 10-20 people filling 15 orders, has become a crew of 65 people filling around 60 orders weekly. There is online posting, there are shoppers, choppers, cooks, bakers, the pet treat crew, a fulfillment crew, a payment crew, a delivery crew including the curbside booth at MAC and the drivers throughout the Bay Area. There’s the dishwashing crew and the cleanup crew. And then there’s the appreciative and supportive customers, dedicated to the cause. Who knew?
We all remain in gratitude to Amma and to each other.
