Amma's Embrace: An Experience of Unconditional Love

World renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader, Mata Amritanandamayi, also known as Amma (Mother), will be returning to the Boston area this August with her simple yet profound message: Love is our true essence. By cultivating love and compassion within ourselves, we can create a ripple effect that spreads healing and harmony throughout the world.

The Healing Power of Amma's Hug

Amma has traveled the world for decades, touching millions of lives with her boundless love and compassion in the form of an embrace and through her humanitarian efforts. In Amma’s arms, many describe experiencing a feeling of radiant and unconditional love.

Amma has embraced more than 40 million people all over the world. “When people come to see me, I understand how much they are suffering,” explains Amma. “When I see them crying, I wipe their tears. My main goal is to console them and help them experience peace and love.” When people pour out their hearts to Amma, she offers them emotional solace, spiritual guidance, and concrete solutions to their problems

Compassion in Action

Amma's life is a testament to selfless service and compassion in action. She encourages us to look beyond our individual concerns and embrace the collective responsibility of caring for one another and our planet.
Amma’s global humanitarian network, Embracing the World (embracingtheworld.org) encompasses educational initiatives, disaster relief, housing programs, schools, orphanages, hospitals, medical assistance, environmental conservation efforts, anti-human trafficking programs, and more.

Inspired by Amma's message and her work of caring for the disadvantaged, groups of volunteers gather in shelters and soup kitchens on a regular basis under the name “Mother's Kitchen” and presently serve 73,000 meals a year to the homeless and hungry in 40 cities throughout North America.

Inspired by Amma's message and her work of caring for the disadvantaged, New England volunteers organize regular food drives, donating to area pantries and delivering excess baked goods from large grocery stores to Boston homeless shelters. To date, volunteers have collected and donated over 1,500 pairs of tube socks to a Providence homeless shelter.  Youth volunteers visit a Brookline nursing home, bringing cheer to residents through singing popular songs karaoke-style. Residents look forward to these visits and join in the sing-a-longs.
