The retreat topic is 'Forgiveness, A Path To Spiritual Unfoldment'.
Swamiji’s talks will be based on Adi Shankaracharya’s scriptural text, the Sivaparadha Kshamapana Stotram (A Prayer for Forgiveness). Amma says, “God is not an individual sitting above the clouds, judging and punishing us for our misdeeds. God is the all-pervasive pure consciousness, dwelling within every sentient and insentient being.”
When we do something wrong, our conscience pricks us, alerting us that we are harming both the world as well as ourselves. As our mistakes accumulate, they create our future karma, which God delivers to us at the right time. It is said that babies in the womb remember past lives, regret their mistakes, and vow to improve. This sets the context for the discussion.
