Mother's Kitchen
"It is a sacred act to feed someone, regardless of his or her circumstances. It warms the hearts and souls of the volunteer as it fills the body and spirit of the receiver. Participation in community service benefits all parties involved on so many levels."
For the past 25 years, from 1997 to 2021, our satsang is very grateful to have served weekly Saturday lunches to the residents of the Staples Family center on Packard St in Ann Arbor.
- The Staples Family Center is now called Haven of Hope, housing homeless veterans. We now drop off groceries for the residents the 1st week of the month and the Sai group of Ann Arbor does the drop off during the 3rd week. Please email kathjeff@gmail.com if you would like to participate.
- We now also cook or drop off cooked meals at the Interfaith Hospitality Network at Alpha House on Jackson Rd, housing homeless families. The center maintains a detailed annual calendar and we can sign up as required. Please email ammamich@gmail.com if you would like to participate.
- Serving breakfasts at St. Andrews Breakfast program, on N. Division, Volunteers are required 7.00am – 9.00am to set up the serving stations serve food to guests, clear trays, wash and dry dishes, and clean up the kitchen. Please email ammamich@gmail.com if you would like to participate.
