October 28: Farming Seva

HSS volunteers in Amma Canada kitchen after apple picking

This Saturday may be our final apple harvest of the season

Last Saturday, with the help of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangha, over 2,900 lbs of apples were harvested for Food for Life. Food for Life is a food distribution centre that provides food for Halton Region. Many thanks to HSS for their great work! We still have at least another 3,000 lbs of apples to harvest. Harvesting has continued during the week, and the co-operation of Mother Nature and many hands will be needed on Saturday to complete the harvest. Please drop in this Saturday, October 28 for any amount of time between 11 AM - 4 PM. A light lunch will be provided. Kindly Sign Up HERE, so we can plan accordingly for lunch.

Our veggie stall will be open this Saturday from 12 noon to 4 PM, selling apples, pears, leeks, potatoes, butternut squash, spicy pear chutney, and applesauce.
