Ganesha Murthi Making: in-person
Location: Outdoors, in front of Amrita Hall
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as a three-part festival at MA Center. The first event is making your own Ganesh from clay at the Center; second is the Puja for your clay Ganesha; the final event is the Visarjan, The symbolism of the Ganesh immersion ceremony is that all forms are temporary, having both their origin and final destination in the formless Absolute.
Join us for an afternoon of making Ganesh Murthis to start the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, the birthday of Lord Ganesha, God of success and overcoming obstacles. All are welcome to join to make your own individual Ganesh murthi (sacred clay figure).
This three-part festival will continue on Saturday, September 7 with the participatory Ganesh Chaturthi Puja, and will conclude on Saturday, September 14, with the Visarjan (Immersion) of the Ganesh murthis.
