Saturdays at MA Center
On Saturdays the MA Center community comes together for service projects around the property and to connect informally with old and new friends. Saturday evenings are dedicated to the Satsang program, an opportunity for spiritual reflection and a great way to stay connected to Amma throughout the year.
'Satsang' is a Sanskrit word that means a spiritual discourse or sacred gathering. It is a gathering of people seeking to deepen their spirituality, through spiritual practices like chanting, meditation, devotional singing or listening to spiritual talks based on the teachings of an enlightened spiritual master.
Typical Saturday Satsang program schedule:
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
-
Group chanting (108 Names of Amma)
-
Satsang talk (spiritual discourse) either by a senior disciple of Amma or someone from the community
-
Bhajans (devotional songs) ending with Arati
-
Prasad distribution
-
Dinner (to be pre-ordered from our Food From Home meal service)
Prayer List: A prayer list is shown every Saturday as part of the evening Satsang program before Arati, for the community to come together in silent prayer for friends, family and loved ones that are undergoing hardship, illness or just need a special thought. You can submit names of people to be added to the prayer list by 7:00 PM on Fridays at: Prayerrequest >
