CIRCLE OF LOVE LETTERS
Writing to Those In Need of Reassurance
Amma inspires our Michigan family of volunteers to write letters/cards of encouragement to those in need. Letters, sent by regular mail with love, are received by someone elderly, ill, isolated, grieving or by one who just needs some encouragement and support. A compassionate letter is tangible and reassuring and can mean so much to the recipient. This simple and kind form of service can be done from home and is a great way to involve children too with their bright drawings and natural expressions of joy.

CIRCLE OF LOVE INSIDE
This is a very special form of letter writing that involves writing to inmate in prison. Due to the challenging nature of their living circumstances, those who write, try to support in words, whatever may help this person to feel cared about and lifted. We don’t try to convert anyone, but have found that through this exchange, both the letter writer and the inmate open to the greater good within their own selves and their lives. One longtime Michigan letter writer said ‘It’s hard to put into words just how transformative this experience has been’. Another writer shared ‘Writing to inmates has broken my heart open’.
