Celebrating Guru Pūrnima at MACC
Guru Pūrnima
Saturday, July 23rd | 6:00 - 8:00 pm
The full moon (pūrnima) day in the (Hindu calendar) month of Āshādha (July-August) is celebrated as Guru Pūrnima.
This day signifies paying respect to one's guru (teacher), particularly the one who leads you in your spiritual path.
This year, Guru Pūrnima falls on Tuesday, July 19th. MA Center Chicago will dedicate the Satsang on Saturday, July 23rd to the celebration of Guru Pūrnima.
Ron Gottsegen, President, M.A. Centers, USA will lead the “Pāduka Pūja” (Worship of the Guru's sandals) with all attendees participating.
“We are in the grip of our ego and because of this we hold on to our likes and dislikes. In order to break away from the ego, we need the help of a Sadguru. Amma's goal is to give her children this strength and love. If we let go of our likes and dislikes, we will become fit vessels to receive the Guru's ever flowing grace. We can become freed from our mind and become a blessing to the entire world.” - from Amma's Guru Pūrnima 2012 message
